I can't agree more. This has been exactly the rant I've been having (by myself) recently. It's all such damaging nonsense and I'm over it.
I remember as a kid (probably into my teens), I didn't realize that women styled their hair with heat and so on. I just thought my hair sucked. One of many things I didn't realize in the beauty arena...
I can only imagine how difficult it is to be a girl growing up now with Instagram and Snapchat and all of the ridiculous filters. I'm not sure we know what people even look like anymore.
And it's also for nothing except commercial interests. Sad. And frustrating.
