I read in an ebook somewhere a suggestion that to succeed on Medium, you should follow 50 people a day, and then in a day or two (I can't remember how long she said), unfollow everyone who didn't follow you back. Then repeat. I can't help but think this probably isn't a very helpful tactic in the long run.

There's a reason I only follow people whose stuff I want to read. I don't want to become one of those people who does the scroll and obligatory clap thing.
