This is so accurate, and I think it’s where a lot of feedback fails. Not everyone is able (or perhaps really trying) to see what the writer’s vision is underneath it all.

It’s surprisingly frustrating to get feedback that seems to have missed the point.

On the other hand, when feedback demonstrates an understanding of what you’re trying for and points an arrow in that direction, it’s a relief!
