Earlier this year, my partner was isolating himself from everyone. He stopped going over to see his family--made excuses that he was sick and left me going over there without him.
Eventually, I told him it wasn't okay. I was worried. And not only was I worried, but it was hurting me too.
I got his family involved. I told them he was self-isolating, and they started being more persistent. His dad started calling him on my phone and his mom came over to our house unannounced.
It's still not perfect these days. He still doesn't really talk with his old friends. But he sees his family, makes the effort to reach out himself, and has started to respond to text messages from friends.
It's better. Small steps.
